
Lisa Lerner was born and raised in Belgium. She earned her Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University in 2009. She is an EMDRIA-approved consultant and certified therapist in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has also trained at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.
Ms. Lerner is a Social Worker at Health and Hospitals. She has experience working at Lenox Hill-, Columbia Presbyterian,- Kings County Hospital, and the Research Foundation of CUNY, and served on the faculty of Ghent University's Psychology department. In addition to English, Ms. Lerner has experience providing psychotherapy in Spanish and French.
Ms. Lerner's primary interests are working with under-served communities, and particularly around issues involving trauma. She is deeply passionate around issues involving immigration, cultural adjustment, third culture issues, and inter-cultural and interfaith relationships.
